Auburn plays Mississippi State in Auburn this Saturday.  The game starts at 7:30 PM eastern on ESPN2.

Since the Pope will be in Philadelphia and traffic might be a mess, we are not planning a game watch.

Auburn is starting off the season next Saturday, September 5th, against Louisville in Atlanta.  The game will be televised on CBS, and it starts at 3:30 PM e astern. If anybody is planning to go to the game in Atlants and wants to meet up with other club members, let me know and I can pass the information along.

I would like to invite everybody who doesn't make it to Atlanta to join us to watch the game with us at Cavanaugh's in University City.  They are located at 119 S 39th Street Street (39th and Sansom) in Philadelphia.  There is kiosk parking available in the area.  Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can give them an approximate number.

We also have another game watch location at Buffalo Wild Wings in Sicklerville, NJ.  They are located at  627 Cross Keys Rd, Sicklerville, NJ 08081.   Please let me know if you plan to attend  in South Jersey so I can give them an approximate number.
At the game watch at Cavanaugh's, we will be raffling off a few prizes. We will sell tickets at $1 each ($5 for six tickets) during the first half.  The drawing will be around halftime, and proceeds of the raffles go to the Philadelphia Auburn Club scholarship fund.   For every $5 in raffle tickets that you buy, you can fill out a card to be entered in the "super raffle" drawing for a Gus Malzahn autographed football that we will give away at the end of the season.   If we get the logistics figured out, we may have a raffle at BWW as well.

We have officially transitioned from the old   philly auburn.com   site to a Philadelphia Auburn Club fan page on Facebook as well as a page on   www.auburnclubs.org.

Auburn fought their way to a 20-14 road win over Kansas State on Thursday night.  We didn't have an official game watch since it was a school night, but I hope everybody was able to see it if they wanted to see it.
The next game is Saturday at 4 PM Eastern, against Louisiana Tech in Auburn.  The game will be televised on the SEC Network.  If anybody is planning to go to the game in Auburn and wants to meet up with other club members, let me know and I can pass the information along.

I hope to see everyone on Saturday!  That's all for now.

Auburn got out to a big lead and was able to play lots of young guys in a 59-13 win over San Jose State.  We had 17 people watch the game with us at Cavanaugh's, and we raised $46 for the Philly AU Club Scholarship fund.  Thanks to everyone who attended!
The next game is next Thursday at 7:30 PM Eastern, against Kansas State.  The game will be televised on ESPN.
Since the game is on a Thursday night, I do not think we will have a big enough crowd for a game watch.  Let me know if you want to get together to watch the game.  I can make sure we have the TV's on at Cavanaugh's if people respond.

That is by far the most amazing finish to a game that I have ever seen!  No, you aren't reading last game's email.  Auburn scored two touchdowns in the last 32 seconds of the game to defeat the alabama Crimson T*** by a score of 34-28.  Nick Marshall threw a 39 yard touchdown pass to Sammie Coates on what looked like a read option QB keeper with 32 seconds to go in the game.  Auburn elected to kick the extra point to tie the game instead of going for 2.  That was a great call, because on the next drive, alabama tried to kick a field goal on the last play of the game.  The 57 yard kick was short, and cornerback Chris Davis returned it 109 yards (100 officially) for the winning touchdown on the game's final play.  What happened next was a tremendous amount of screaming and jumping, and that was just at our bar in Philly!!  Back in Jordan-Hare, the fans rushed the field, and there was joy in the college football world again.  I have to admit that I did not see the ending coming.  I was fully prepared for an Auburn win in overtime.

Auburn's "Irresistible Force" running game put up 296 rushing yards on the previously "Immovable Object" that was the T*** rush defense.  Tre Mason rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries, and Nick Marshall ran for 99 yards and 1 touchdown.  Nick also threw 2 TD passes.  The defense again came through late in the game.  This is a special team, and it seems like they are getting better every week.
With the win, Auburn is #3 in the AP poll, #3 in the coaches poll, and #3 in the BCS standings.  Auburn's record is now 11-1 (7-1 in the SEC), and they finish the regular season as SEC West Champions.  We had 33 people watch the game with us at Cavanaugh's, and we raised $435 for the Philly scholarship fund. Thanks to everyone who attended!  Depending on what happens, we may all need to cheer for Michigan State to beat Ohio State on Saturday night.  Let's not worry about that yet, because...
