When Alabama fans heard of the tragedy of Toomer's Corner, they quickly expressed their condolences and asked, What can we do? My last year as a student at Auburn, I interned with the Office of Alumni Affairs. After graduation I return to my hometown, but it was not long before I was itching to get back to the “Loveliest Village on the Plains”. When I heard there was a position with the Office of Alumni Affairs I jumped at the opportunity, and here I am beginning my career at Auburn.
Auburn is so much more than a city or a school or a team or a degree. It is something that, once you have experienced it, will live inside of you forever and become a part of what makes up who you are... It is knowing that year after year, no matter how things change in our hectic lives, you can always come back to "the Loveliest Village on the Plains"...the place where you came from...your home.
