It was announced today that Auburn University will head to Atlanta, Ga. on Dec. 31 to play the University of Virginia in the 44th annual Chick-fil-A Bowl! The rivalry game between the ACC and SEC will kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST in the Georgia Dome.

This will be Auburn's fifth appearance in this bowl game. The Tigers' most recent appearance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl was a 23-20 victory against Clemson in 2007. This was the first ever Chick-fil-A Bowl to require overtime.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl notably ranks first in giving among bowl games, donating $3.47 million in charitable and scholarship contributions in the last six years. It endows a $100,000 scholarship to each participating university annually.
