The Search is Over. Auburn Adds New Coordinators

Many questions were brought up after Auburn's win at the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve. With the conclusion of the 2011 season, Head Coach Gene Chizik had to put his hiring cap on and decide who would be the best fit for the two vacant coordinator positions. Anticipation filled the sport's forums as the talk of possible candidates began to ring in. Gene Chizik has found his men and two new additions to the Auburn Family have been made.

Brian VanGorder, previously with the Atlanta Falcons, has come in to take over the reigns as Defensive Coordinator. He has had some previous experience in the Southeastern Conference as the Defensive Coordinator and linebackers coach at Georgia from 2001-04.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for me and my family at this point in my career, both professionally and personally, to become the defensive coordinator at Auburn," VanGorder said.

On the attacking front, Scot Loeffler will join the Auburn Tigers as the new Offensive Coordinator. His enthusiasm was electric Monday morning when asked about this opportunity. Loeffler has coached some of the most proficient quarterbacks in the NFL including Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, and Brian Griese.

"Working at Auburn is an absolute privilege," Loeffler said.

As these new additions are quickly plugging into their work, the Auburn Family can now rest assure that these new coaches will help produce some great caliber football. The pieces to the puzzle are now complete. Welcome Brian VanGorder and Scot Loeffler to Auburn University. War Eagle!
